Does the ABS Sensor Affect the Vehicle's Computer?

The health of the ABS sensor directly affects the vehicle's computer (ECU) judgment. Sensor malfunctions can not only cause ABS failure but may also affect other systems:

 Affecting Vehicle Speed Display and Engine Idle Speed (Core Function of the Computer)

Wheel speed sensors are key components for calculating vehicle speed and mileage. If the sensor is damaged or the signal is interrupted, the computer will not be able to receive accurate wheel speed signals, causing the speedometer and odometer on the dashboard to malfunction, and even leading to unstable engine idling.

 Triggering the ABS Warning Light and Safety Mode

When the ABS sensor transmits an abnormal signal or malfunctions, the vehicle's computer will immediately receive a fault code, causing the ABS warning light on the instrument panel to illuminate. In severe cases, to protect vehicle safety, the computer may enter a fault protection mode, limiting engine speed.

 Causing ABS Function Failure (Safety Hazard)

If the sensor completely fails, the ABS system will be unable to determine wheel speed differences, resulting in the loss of anti-lock braking function during emergency braking. This can easily lead to wheel lock-up and loss of steering control, which is the most direct safety risk.False Alarms and Chain Reaction with Other Systems
